Good, but very young.

Plot

After their parents die, the Alden children find a home in a boxcar whilst running away from their supposedly cruel grandfather.

The children know right from wrong, but they do run away from their grandfather at the beginning.

Conclusion

This book is excellent for younger children. The Aldens are very kind and mannerly and these values are emphasized. They do, however, run away from their grandfather at the beginning and proceed to hide from him.
