Good first story in a very well-written series.

The laws of morality are abided by. While there is some discussion about a person having been kidnapped, it is resolved.

God is not mentioned in this book; Dink, Josh, Ruth Rose, and their friends and family all live very moral lives.

Conclusion

This series is one of the best "easy readers" ever written: the plot is enjoyable, the characters likeable, and the writing style good. It is a fun read for younger children who enjoy mysteries, and makes a good alternative to the ever-popular "Nancy Drew" and "Hardy Boys" books.
