Good book for beginners; great descriptions and plot.

Plot

Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are best friends who live in the town of Green Lawn, Connecticut. When they hear mysterious sounds coming from their friend Wallis' castle, they go and investigate. After finding the tunnel leading to the source of the noises, the three uncover something illegal and unexpected.

Morality

The bad guys' operation is obviously illegal. The main characters are very moral in their actions and know right from wrong.

God is not mentioned in this book, nor is any religion or spiritual content.

Animals are mistreated at one point, but this is not condoned.

Conclusion

An excellent series for beginners. The plot is enjoyable, with lovable characters and an easy-to-read writing style. The descriptions of Wallis' castle were some of the highlights in this story, as well as those of the beach. Kids who love mysteries will enjoy this book and series immensely.
